Christmas In July! Who doesn’t need a little Christmas Cheer in the Summer?!

Christmas in July has started on the Hallmark Channel and I couldn’t be happier! Anyone who knows me well knows that I am obsessed with everything Christmas. I look forward to the Hallmark Christmas movies every July because it gets me in the holiday spirit and who doesn’t love a little Christmas cheer when it’s 95 degrees and humid outside?!!

I look forward to decorating my home every year and I’m in the process of trying to decide how I want to decorate this year. I haven’t bought new Christmas decor’ for years. I have so much from years past that I can mix and match or reuse every year. I’m thinking I may add a little red this year. Not sure yet, but I’ll be searching Pinterest sooner than later to add to my Christmas board! 🙂

I hope this post brings a little Christmas Cheer to you this hot July! It will be here before we know it!

I took a screenshot of my Christmas tree from my Instagram to share as well as a few Christmas jammies pics of my boys from last year.

CHEERS to Hallmark for bringing Christmas in July for those of us (ME) that have Christmas in our hearts all year long.

Huge Announcement you are going to LOVE! NOW OFFERING…

Now Offering – Digital Mini Session Package! All Year Long!

Yes, that’s right! I am now offering a Digital Mini Session Package that you can schedule anytime throughout the year. No more just Spring or Fall Mini’s. This is so great and I am so happy to be offering these now.

If you receive my newsletter you have already heard this sweet news! I did put in the newsletter that you receive 10 digital images – well, we all know that I give you a lot more than that so I decided to take that cap off all of my ads for these. I will give you as many photos as I take and are good enough to edit in the 20 minutes we have together. I’ve never been one to “hold” images from my clients so therefore I will have no cap on the amount of images you receive. I always say to all of my clients “what am I going to do with them on my computer?” I love you all and am so excited to offer these sweet mini sessions! xoxo

Sweet Summertime Dinners! Please share your favorites!

      Summertime and the livin’s easy!

I love a great Summer meal. Who doesn’t? I am in such a rut with dinner ideas as we don’t like to eat “heavy” meals when it’s hot outdoors. If you have any ideas I would love for you to share them with me. So far we have been doing a lot of sandwich type meals, taco salads and now these kabobs. I’m so happy that I have a husband that is pretty obsessed with his Traeger smoker. It is his hobby on the weekends..and even now during the week. 🙂

Brent smoked up some pork sirloin last night on his Traeger for us. I decided to turn them in to kabobs as a sweet Summertime meal. Add some peppers and onions (not pictured, but we did have them too) and you have yourself a delicious meal. All he did was add a little teriyaki sauce to the pork and that’s it. So delish!

I made this kid friendly by making these in to fajitas for the boys. I chopped up the pork and veggies smaller and wrapped them in a tortilla – topped with shredded cheese and ranch. The boys loved them! #momwin

Please friends, if you have any go-to Summer recipes I would love for you to share them with me. Of course I had to take a couple photos of this deliciousness!

Hope you are all having a great Summer! Again, please share any recipes you may have that are great for the Summer months! I know we eat a lot of corn on the cob and watermelon and can’t wait until these are in their prime. Couple more weeks! Would love any and all full meal ideas. Thanks so much!

        The Gray Family {a country session in Villisca, IA}

Oh, how I adore the Gray family! They are one of my most photogenic families that I have ever photographed in the 8 years I have been doing this. Always such a great time with them and I love how they used their hour of session time to do a variety of looks. We took some indoor lifestyle photos in their newly built home as well as some outdoor photos on their lane to the home and then of course a few front porch photos. Iowa Hawkeye gear and KC Royals gear also made an appearance. Thank you Gray Family for another great session!

How did you spend your Father’s Day?

          Brent’s Perfect Day

Brent’s Father’s Day was perfect for him in every way. We started the day with church and then enjoyed smoked burgers and brats that he smoked on his Traeger grill. We invited my in-laws over to eat and have a relaxing afternoon together. Finished the day with a trip to the ice cream shop and a fire on the patio. I only managed to snap one iPhone photo the entire day but I did make the boys take some photos in the garage (Brent’s “other” man-cave) with their Dad the night before, so here are a few garage pics that I took.

..and here’s our only iPhone photo I snapped on Father’s Day.
